After 13 years of chronic pain in my coccyx (tailbone) I went to the doctor and got a x-ray. It quite obvious there is an issue and physical therapy did nothing to help. My primary physician no longer will treat my “chronic pain”, so I had a consult with an orthopedic surgeon yesterday. We are going to try a caudal epidural injection to see if I can get some relief. He says surgeries to remove the coccyx are very risky and only work half the time. On another note, I was referred to a surgeon in NYC that does many of these types of surgeries, and he had a 90 percent success rate. More to come.
